Magenta Stars 14x60" Devore
Devore fabric is created by weaving silk fibers with rayon fibers. The rayon fibers are then burned away using an sodium bisulfate (a mild acid) and heat leaving a pattern in the silk fabric. Burn-out velvet is made pretty much the same way.
Devoré (also called burnout) is a fabric technique where a mixed-fibre material undergoes a chemical process to dissolve the rayon fibers, leaving the silk fibers to create a semi-transparent pattern against more solidly woven fabric.
This scarf has bright magenta starts on a rosy rainbow pattern.
Measuring 14” x 60”, it gives a bright accent piece to any outfit, and also large enough to wear with a jacket on a cold day.
Hand dyed with non-toxic dyes and natural fixatives.
Hand wash with cold water and mild soap, hang dry. May be ironed.
